Kathy Iwanowski

Connecting Arts + Health in

Corporate, Education, Healthcare, and Nonprofit Settings

Kathy Iwanowski is an innovative painter and sculptor, experimental sound designer, and writer.  Her commitment to self-expressive practices, for health and wellness in individuals and groups, is influenced by her experiences as a registered nurse in oncology and hospice care.

As a writer and professional speaker, she has written articles on the subject of creativity and creative living and spoken at conferences for nurses and interior designers.  Since 2005, she has been an artist-in-residence with VSA Arts of FL, working with children and adults with disabilities in diverse settings and worked briefly as the outreach coordinator for the Tampa Museum of Art. Another area of Kathy's practice is developing projects related to the arts and health such as the 2006 group exhibition, Breastplates & Other Artful Art Against Cancer which was displayed for three months at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa and toured Florida in 2007, with Faces of Courage's POLKA DOT TOUR, where it was shown at Gilda's Club in Ft. Lauderdale and  the College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University.  Also, in 2007, she began  consultation work for arts in healthcare programs.  Clients have included The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast and the Tampa Community Care Network.  To find out more about these and other creative services, check out the Services page.

Kathy's own work is identified by its contemporary use of layers, bold colors, and unique handling of subject matter. Her paintings are part of the South Carolina State Parks, City of Clearwater, Florida, and other private and corporate collections.
